It works much better than another type of grinder I had previously purchased. I have been using the Proctor Silex flax grinder daily for a month now and it works great.
You only have to hit the pulse 2-3 times and then just pour it out. I have flax seed every morning in my oatmeal. I highly recommend this item. Couldn't be easier. For years I used a hand grinder but it was starting to hurt my wrist so I decided to try this electric grinder. I have been using it for a month now and it works great.
but I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. This item is actually the Proctor Silex E160B COFFEE GRINDER that can be purchased on Amazon for significantly less. Save yourself some $$$$. Fair warning. I discovered this upon receipt of mine ( listed above with no model number as "Fresh Flax & Coffee Grinder"). I love the item.
I just use a paper towel. Grinding flax seeds is a new activity for me, but I knew immediately that I didn't want to use our coffee grinder - not a good mix. It takes up very little space, and has earned its place on my very limited kitchen countertop. I really like the cord retraction feature. I purchased this grinder, and I have been very happy with its performance. It is quick and easy to use, and cleans up in a jiffy.
I mention this one because the Magic Bullet is so loud that I would put ear plugs in to run it. Not so with this guy. 4. Seeds would be stuck to blades no matter how few I tried to put in to process.
Very easy clean-up. I half want to order another so that I'll have a back up when this one does give out. Everything gives out eventually. I just know I'll want an identical item.Muah. I gave this full stars for a number of reasons:1. No burn. Wipes out great with a paper towel. Easy twist-it-in and easy pull-it-out.
Retractable cord is a cooler feature than I thought it would be. Maybe that sounds extreme but its an item I use daily and the noise gets to me. and 5 stars. Great, great product and I can tell its going to be durable too. Magic Bullet, seeds stuck to blades and danger of being cut by blades when having to really scrub it clean. Not so with this guy- tolerable level without the plugs.
Magic Bullet usually "burned" my seeds. Noise level. Even powdered my white sugar for me to top my french toast and did not stick to the blades.3. Even my t'eff seeds were powdered without the "burn".2. Not so with this guy- easy wipe out with paper towel.
